Learning To Lock
After all of this you may be eager to begin learning locking. Well then get yourself to your local locking class, it's best to learn with a teacher.
Also many of the original Lockers conduct master classes from time to time in dance studios, so keep an eye out for these - who better to learn from?

Locking Moves & Explanations
Here you'll have a reference of many of the popular locking moves and learn how to do these locking moves. This will serve as a great reminder if you have some locking experience or help clarify moves and steps that you find more difficult.
This is the move it all started with when Don Campbell accidentally stumbled upon it while trying to do other dance steps. Needless to say you must know how to do this first if you want to lock.
This is when there are two locks in quick succession when you want to be a bit funkier.
You can also lock in a lower position like in this version so you can change levels.
This is a move that is often done between other locking steps. It can be done on the spot.
When done with a march, pacing can also be used as a travelling step.
Hand claps were also a part of locking from the beginning. There are many different ways to do these claps and as with anything in locking you can experiment with them.

Sometimes you won't have other dancers around and will have to make do with giving five to yourself. Here's how.
This is useful and is often combined with other moves in other locking combinations.
Scooby snacks! The Scooby Doo was created by believe it or not a dancer called Scooby Doo who also created other locking steps like the scoo bot (below).
The legs move quite a bit in this one. Actually come to think of it the arms move quite a bit too. Co-ordination!
Similar to the scoo bot except when you feel in more of a kicking mood.
Continuing with the Scooby Doo theme here's the Scooby Walk.
Now changing the theme to Skeeter Rabbit, there is a little bit of travelling in this move. Get those legs moving!
Skeeter Rabbit Around The World
Similar to the above but you show the world the Skeeter Rabbit so the whole world knows you're locking.
One for the floor now, this is really a Russian dancing move brought into locking by Alpha Anderson.
Watch those legs! You get to show off your wonderful legs in this one and show just how brilliant they are.
